How strange to see Lou Costello listed as the screenwriter (w/Sid Fields) of the episode "Barber Lou." According to IMDb, it's the one and only thing he ever wrote movie-TV-wise.

Sigh. Writing-wise, it might be the series' worst episode. A scene at the beginning, with Lou arguing with the motorcycle cop giving him a ticket, is excruciating. Lou spews senseless stuff, the cop asks him to repeat it, Lou shouts it out over and over, and it builds to ...... nothing. It's like a couple of 12-year-old kids asked to make up an A&C-type skit ON THE SPOT, off the top of their heads, so of course it goes absolutely nowhere in an annoying, embarrassing, child-like way. Actually, the two 12-year-olds might have done a little better with it.

I still luv ya, Lou, but ..... stick to the acting!
