I believe I may have read somewhere that Kong was designed with the intention of connecting to the child audience, with a less grimacing face and acting rather clumsy in many respects.

While there may be some truth to that, it also appears that budget had some effect as well.

But all in all, this movie may have one of the very best Godzilla sequences in it, of all the Godzilla films. The train sequence with Godzilla stalking across the countryside and the young girl trying to escape. The lighting, mood, music, atmosphere all combine to truly bring out the horror and majesty of Godzilla.

It's worth watching the movie for this sequence alone.

Also, the americans in the sub, though very poorly acted is fairly effective as well, especially the brutal yet very short ending.
