JINX MONEY wasn't too bad: da fi'ty t'ousand dollar-pot of a high-stakes poker game between racketeers goes missing; the cash is found by Sach, natch, and this makes the boys the target of the gangsters trying to get their hands on the loot. But every time one of the hoodlums lifts the money from them, they're killed by a shadowy figure with an umbrella, so it quickly develops a reputation as being cursed, thus the title (a girlfriend of one of the gangsters calls it "the kiss-of-death dough" at one point). Sheldon Leonard plays a gangster (there's a stretch) and Sach has a slow-motion dream sequence.

Out of curiosity, I checked to see how much money fifty thousand 1948 dollars would be worth today: according to one of way of figuring, it comes out to almost $445,000. That's a hella poker game...

SMUGGLER'S COVE is this Saturday; this is one that I remember seeing as kid on Channel 5 as a kid and liking, so I'm curious to see how it stands up.

I am looking over the list of the BB films and am realizing that many have genre content. Even BOWERY BOMBSHELL has a very slight genre content (exploding spit).
