No, Tim - MONKEY'S PAW was before.

"Cooper had nothing to do with Dr. CyClops."

He produced it.

All I'm saying is - and I think the memories people tell of him prove this - there was much more to the man that just Docus and Westerns.

Geez, guys, it takes nothing away from O'Brien to give Cooper a little credit for a film he produced.

Hey Craig,
I did not know that Cooper produced Dr. Cyclops, he is uncredited, my mistake.
Monkey's Paw was listed as 1933 at imdb, which would make it's start date probably after Kong, since Kong was in production for over a year.
I give Cooper credit for the original idea, and for putting all the other inspirations together, and for the filmmaking of the crucial scenes, but Kong's world was borrowed from Creation, and I believe that Kong's size was as well. Without O'Brien, I don't think that we would be having this conversation right now,  if they had gone the man in the costume routine, I think it would be just another old film from the thirties. I think that it's kind of like the Stan Lee/Steve Ditko thing, it took both of their ideas to make Spider-Man, not just Stan, as has been reported since the 60's.
