We see things differently, I guess. The one eye visible on the Xenomorph in the photo above doesn't look to me much like the real chicken eye a couple of posts later. For two things, it has neither iris nor pupil.

In a sense, you can see a mother and child reunion in that photo: the design of the unused Xenomorph was a jumping-off point for that of the Mutant's head. Several aliens of the 1950s were based on Edd Cartier designs as included in a Groff Conklin anthology Travelers in Space. The opening credits of THREE STOOGES IN ORBIT use several near-copies of Cartier's amazing drawings (in color!).
