Watched this again recently. I actually think the xenomorph holds up rather well. Has the desert ever been used in such wonderfully eerie manner? My favorite scenes involve Joe Sawyer and Russell Johnson as the "replaced" linesmen; walking shoulder to shoulder, staring at the sun, voices disembodied. I'm always reminded of one of the errors in John Baxter's book (though I feel guilty even noting it since this book was practically all we had before KWTS and "The Weaver Files" and others came along). He describes the two characters as holding hands when they emerge in the alley doorway--something I've not seen in any screening (including a big screen 3-D at MIT). They DO walk pretty closely however. It's just so much easier to access movies these days.
