I am very well aware of that.  That is not a revelation.

I will reiterate "I wouldn't have thought their slow-motion capabilities were that advanced yet at that time. "
  
By that meaning, that particular scene was beyond slo-mo, it was super slow mo.  Which means they had a very specialized high speed MOTORIZED camera to pull it off.  Look for some similar examples from around the same time and you just don't find many.  It is a very rare beast for 1933.  As a film-maker myself, and one that is very interested in the evolution of the hardware of the time, it is just a observation.

Now if you want to impress me with your knowledge, tell me what kind of production camera (model and make etc.) was capable of that job at that time.  I know the answer to this.  Do you?
