Malden and Forrest tried their best. They were both miscast and knew it, and each did a really good job under the circumstances. This was not a Karl Malden sort of movie or role, but he gave his best and did not, if memory serves, try to ape Vincent Price, who would have been the obvious first choice for this one. Malden did it his own way, which wasn't bad at all. Paul Richards is quite striking in his small part and the movie needed more of what he had. A good follow-up to the same studio's House Of Wax, but not so good.
