This could be true after, maybe 1949, but Chaney was not known for always being amiable. A few examples of this would be his smashing a vase over Robert Siodmak's head during production of SON OF DRACULA, intimidating Martin Kosleck during the climax of THE MUMMY'S CURSE(in his own words..),not to mention his treatment of Evelyn Ankers during their time at Universal together. Not exactly amiable behavior in the least, I would say.
