That said, Noel Neill is MY Lois Lane
Mine, too.  Absolutely.  When I think of a live-action Lois, it's always Noel Neill.  Not Phyllis Coates or Margot Kidder or Teri Hatcher or Kate Bosworth or anyone else.  Still...

I think Phyllis Coates is the better actor. But much of this is directly the fault of the scripts.
I only sort of agree with this.  Instead of 'much', I'd say 'some.'  Usually, as an actor myself, I'm all for blaming the lousy words and saluting the performer for doing his/her best.  But Neill is just not a good actor.  Ted mentions the 'shrug' which, frankly, I'd never isolated before.  But now that he's mentioned it, ain't it just so?  What I could never help noticing, though, was the stock (and limited) repertoire of facial expressions, and the sing-song delivery which was not so bad to a kid's ear, but not so good to anyone who'd ever heard good acting.

And, yet...and, still...she's my Lois Lane, too.
