I'll regret posting this, but I actually enjoyed Van Helsing. I can't help it, I'm semi-ashamed of it, but all the attrocious acting, abysmal writing, sub par CGI, video game like action sequences couldn't dampen my enjoyment of seeing a crap load of monsters duking it out on screen for 2 hours.

As I mentioned elsewhere, there were certain scenes in the film that worked for me, and others that didn't. I don't hate this film the way some others do, but I agree that it's not very good when taken as a whole. I own a copy of the DVD and watch it maybe once per year, when I want some mindless monster mayhem. I also agree that this is probably Sommers' worst film. But I like The Mummy very much, and the other two in that series aren't abysmal dregs in my viewing universe.
