I'm going to expose myself like maybe never before, and say that I "kind of" like Bluebeard! Not so much the social comment, even though even THAT was a little clever here and there. Even though there have been a zillion non-WWII stories with Nazi connections, that movie came before a whole lot of them, so that's SOMETHING. Of course, the OTHER social comment - the motive given for the murders - is a pretty huge cliche in psychology and pop psychology, but again, this was maybe before it got COMPLETELY overdone in crime stories. And for fans of unconventional WWII films, it has Karl Otto Alberty (of Kelly's Heroes and Secret of Santa Vittoria and so on). And it has that early ' 70s "take" on the early ' 30s (which I don't mean as an insult), like something out of Cabaret. And of course it has Virna Lisi, Raquel Welch and Joey Heatherton, which speaks for itself.
