AIP's acquisition of the 'film rights to Ralph Wilson's novel Girls From Planet 5', on which the film was to be based, was announced in trade journal Boxoffice on 2nd March 1959.

The project is mentioned twice more, during February 1960, although it doesn't appear to have gotten too close to actually being produced:

The source novel was first published by Ballantine in 1955, and reissued several times (also in French and German translation), although the author's name is given as Richard Wilson, rather than Ralph Wilson, as he was called in Boxoffice:

The blurb on the back of the later Lancer paperback edition refers to the work as being 'science-fiction with a Woody Allen-ish twist.' I guess something got lost during its transformation into a screenplay. image
