Okay, so there really was no specific cut of "The Green Slime"; most of the info I've read claimed it was Fukasaku's intended cut, but the corrections are made clear. That said, I still feel it would be great to see the Japanese release in Region 1 DVD with subs. I can see "The Green Slime" working without the relationship triangle between Robert Horton, Richard Jackel and Luciana Paluzzi.

As much as it was a contract job for Fukasaku, in interviews he seems to have had no qualms about it and took some sort of pride in it. I will say I didn't know the film had other Toei house directors involved with it as well; so basically Fukasaku wasn't the only director involved, as it was mentioned that Katsuhiko Taguchi was a part of it as well. Does this mean that Fukasaku directed certain parts of the film, whereas it went to others? I recall William Ross mentioning Fukasaku was there all the way, but there could be other viewpoints of the production that might say otherwise. Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding it all.
