I have to disagree with The Hitchhiker comment; but that story is so well written, almost anyone could probably play it. As to my favorite voices, I gravitate toward the more cultured voice. So I like Tom Conway, Herbert Marshall and Basil Rathbone. I always like to hear Eric Snowden and Joseph Kearns. One of the things I've been blessed with (if one wishes to call it that) is the ability to identify various voices. Whether it be on a old time radio show, or animated one. So, I love listening to the shows for that added reason; voice identification. The more obscure, the better. I've been re-listening to some of my detective shows and Howard McNear, Barney Phillips and Jay Novello pop up on many of them. On the female side, on these same shows, you have- Joan Banks, Lurene Tuttle and Betty Lou Gerson, ole' Cruella Di Vil herself, popping up. But, my favorite, of the woman voices is, Peggy Webber. This woman is so very talented. She will appear in an episode of, say- The Saint, in several manifestations. Usually as the timid heroine, then later as an old cantankerous landlady. Quite a talent.
