Although RANA usually gets trashed on the basis of its Larry Buchanan-like monster, my main objection to it is that it's simply a dismal, murky, bore, whereas GIANT SPIDER INVASION and CAPTURE OF BIGFOOT have some, albeit very little, entertainment value. One possible reason why Rebane doesn't usually get lumped in with Buchanan, Ted Mikels or other similar directors is that the acting is surprisingly at least OK in most of them. I have no idea how he was able to recruit such good actors as Meeker, Alan Hale Jr. and Otis Young for his films.
