The only other board I visit as often as this one (well, almost as often) is devoted to the Kingston Trio. Usually there's no connection between this board and that one, and even when there is, it's kind of tenuous. Like this one. Every week, singer-musician Jim Moran posts an article on a song the Kingston Trio did, with links to a video of the song--plus the song as done by several other singers. This week's song was "Get Along, Little Dogies" (aka "Dogies' Lament"), kind of an odd song for the Trio to do, but they did do it, and quite well. However, the first video Jim posted (almost all of them are from YouTube) was Roy Rogers singing this song in "The Border Legion" (1940); he sings while playing cards, and everyone around him joins in the familiar chorus. ("Whoopie ti yi yo...") And among those singing along is good old Joe Sawyer, the older of the two linemen in IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE (if you click on this, be sure to choose the HQ option at the bottom of the playback screen):
