Just to elaborate on "the Mephisto Waltz" thing I brought up-- this is a sequence where a bunch of the girls are sitting around bored as they listen to the music teacher play some stuffy composition. Jochim, who wants to cause a distraction,encourages the pianist to play the Mephisto Waltz. The teacher has misgivings ("it's too tempestuous") but plays it anyway, and sure enough, all the women start looking like they're, uh, really stirred up...

There's not even technically a need for the Waltz, because Jochim, just to be sure he gets his distraction, also hoaxes one young woman into attacking another. But the Waltz scene definitely moves this little B closer to Ed Wood territory.
