Since I was the one who originally announced this (honestly having no idea there was still some legal trouble concerning this title), I also wanted to double confirm what Fred has stated here. MVD sent me a review copy of the final product several days ago, but they just sent me a follow-up e-mail saying that GIANT SPIDER INVASION "IS NOT COMING OUT and SHOULD NOT BE WRITTEN ABOUT". I of course will comply with both party's wishes, but I hope Fred might put out his own new special edition of the film in the future.

Let me say that I DON'T want to stop their release, but I'm caught in a spot where I have to do something. If MVD can work out a equitable arrangement with us I'd be more that happy to let them go forward just as I did with BCI. Failing in that I might even consider buying their finished copies and distributing them myself, although that's not something I want to become involved in. If someone here has a 35mm print (a post which I suspect may have been a joke) we could really make an new edition out of it, otherwise you can rest assured MVD's edition is exactly the same master that was supplied to us those years back. It was a digi-beta, but who knows its original source. Rebane told us that he had given the negative to someone as collateral on a loan and then stiffed the guy and now he can't get the negative back, and after knowing this "person of interest" for some time now I would suspect that this is the only thing he ever did tell the truth about because it sounds just like him. He's also under court order not to talk or write about me publicly, but so much for that...
