How do you think the Top Ten did with Motown?

I thought that even the worst of the bunch was okay and better than any other year's Top Ten. Unfortunately, one of my favorites is Megan and she was probably the bottom of the barrel this evening. She didn't look comfortable for a second. And Lil, surprisingly, was never "in the pocket" with Heatwave---and Heatwave was actually the song I had told Cheryle earlier that she should sing.

The best of the bunch? Matt Giraud was very good and so was Adam's take on Tracks of My Tears. And, I didn't think Danny was bad at all, he was very entertaining and sounded great. Were the judges listening to what we were listening to?

With only three women on the show at this point I would look for them to all be safe. I think that tonight will be the end of the road for oil field worker Michael. Too bad, they're all pretty good this year.

And a great Idol moment was when Smokey Robinson gave Adam a standing ovation after his rendition of Tracks of My Tears. That was pretty powerful. And, in a subsequent shot it even looked as if Smokey was crying. Wow. I thought his explanation of the song was pretty interesting, as well. I had always thought that the tracks were just the wet streaks left by tears. But to think about them as grooves worn into a face by constant crying---I'll never listen to the song the same way again.

It was a fun show tonight.
