I think the singers are, overall, better than the top twelve from last year. Last year there were about a half dozen that deserved to be there.

But I think I would disagree about last season's contestants being personality challenged. I thought that Carly, Michael, Jason, Brooke and the winner all had good and memorable personalities. I thought each of them could be marketable performers. I was glad to see that Brooke White recorded a cd and now I'm waiting for Jason Castro to release something. Anybody know if he got a recording contract? And I thought Carly and Michael did a super job with The Letter at the beginning of the competition.

Isn't that something? I could remember the names of the runner ups and not the winner? Ahhh! David Cook! The contestant that was challenged in the personality department last year was semi-finalist David Archuleta---but he was just a kid. Can you imagine how intimidating the entire American Idol process could be to a sixteen year old?
