As the eight second chancers vied for the wild card spot my picks were Megan, the second kid that sang "bluesy" with the black fedora---Matt (?), and Anoup. When the first girl was picked and those three weren't among them I told Cheryle that the girl had gotten Anoup or Matt's spot. Then when they were both standing center stage at the end of the show, before it was announced that Matt had made the cut, I turned to Cheryle and said that this year they were going to round up the twelve finalists to an even baker's dozen. And that's what they did.
Now, with thirteen finalists instead of twelve will they cut two the first week to get back on track or will they just extend the season by an extra week? If I were the Fox network I think I would opt for the latter choice. What else are they going to put into that time slot that will draw the kind of numbers that Idol does even on its worst week?
