In L.A. and Phoenix, Virgin is the most expensive bookstore, the most expensive DVD and CD store, and the all-round most expensive store. I used to go in there and browse to see what was newly released or in stock, but I'd go elsewhere to buy. I don't know how they've lasted as long as have with the highest prices in retail.

Amoeba in Hollywood is a lot more reasonable in prices than most places, although not the cheapest. It's got everything, even foreign region 2's. The oop Anchor Bay edition of Quatermass and the Pit is only $70 there as opposed to $90-120 everywhere else and they've had it on sale for five years. They are most fun to go in and browse, and the elevator ride up from the parking is a trip and a half.
