Aren't baboons also apes, Strockstar? I believe those monkey-like creatures on Madagascar whose name escapes me at the moment are just primates, not apes.

Tom: I believe that crocodile is the generic term for all aquatic reptiles in the family that includes alligators, hence alligators are just big guys in the croc family, seldom referred to as such except by scientists.

Admittedly, the classification business gets confusing to those not trained in natural science. Monkeys, gorillas and humans are all primates (right?), but monkeys are not apes, humans are apes, just glabrous ones (some of us). It's not easy to keep track of all this; and then there's the DNA business. I heard on the radio that chimps and humans are the same to 98.5%.
