Doesn't "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" mentions Fred Astaire, if I remember.

"The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" mentions Garbo and Dietrich.

"Dear Mr Gable" mentioned a movie actor, I think, but I can't remember who it was.

"Whatever Happened to Randolph Scott" by the Statler Brothers mentions all sorts of B cowboys. "I Dreamed of a Hillbilly Heaven" mentions Will Rogers, Tex Ritter, and a few others.

Vernon Dalhart had a hit in the twenties with "There's a New Star in Heaven Tonight--Rudolph Valentino."

Fred Astaire danced and sang to "Bojangles of Harlem" about Bill Robinson.

"Puttin' On the Ritz" mentions trying to look like Gary Cooper--super duper.

"I Want Eddie Fisher for Christmas" charted for Bette Johnson in 1954. Eddie appeared in a couple of films.
