(Pat was her Number One hearthrob for a while) (understandably, I think!)
That's quite understandable, Sue. Patrick was an extremely handsome guy, easily in the Cary Grant league. I think my mom thought so too, but as I tried to get her into THE PRISONER, she'd ask, 'Explain this to me again. Is it he doesn't know where he is?' image I'd always say mom, don't worry about it and just enjoy what you can here. She was my TV buddie a lot back then and enjoyed various genre shows and films, but THE PRISONER was a bit too much though she'd always indulge me. My dad also liked McGoohan. He didn't get THE PRISONER at first, but he tried watching it again late '80s or early '90s 'cause he knew how much I loved it. He enjoyed it more the second time and accepted my interpretation of the ending. My wife also liked the show when I introduced it to her. Unfortunately, the surreal ending really angered her and she let me have it every time the show came up in conversation. She's since mellowed as she knows how much Patrick and the show mean to me. She did like SECRET AGENT/DANGER MAN though and considered Patrick a fine actor and yes, very good-looking. image
