I find it strange that many of these movies have gone way over the top. Realistic in terms of blood, gore and overall violence but lets take King Kong for example. I once heard someone say, "This Kong looks like an actual gorilla and not some stupid little clay thing like the old one." Now, I'm sure you all can feel the internal rage but think about that particular movie for a second. Karate kicking dinosaurs, running in-and-out underneath a myriad of Brontosaurs, and the drama between Kong and Ann. In the original, Fay Ray does nothing but scream when she is on the Island and even in New York. There was no love interest evident between she and Kong in the entire picture, its only the viewer who feels sorry for him. Back to the remake, can you imagine anyone standing atop the empire state building and jumping up and down?!? It seems like every movie I've seen recently has this level of, I'll call, "modern campyness (?)." Alien vs. PredatorR is another prime example.. Ok, so people die and there is a lot of gore which (I guess) makes it realistic but the film as the same ending as Bride of the Monster....
