It must be the hatred for Cruise... I'm not aware of any animosity in entertainment journalism for director Bryan Singer. But some folks seem to really want this movie to fail.

Case in point: Fox entertainment reporter Roger Friedman recently wrote rather snarkily about the film's poster, claiming that the studio is going all-out to "de-Nazify" promotional materials. I don't have the link at hand, but Friedman pointedly notes that Terence Stamp is depicted on the poster in civilian clothes (wearing a dark business suit and tie), not a Wehrmacht uniform.

Friedman is an IDIOT. In the film, Stamp plays Ludwig Beck, a retired general who was a prime mover of the anti-Hitler conspiracy. Beck had been out of uniform since 1938; the events of the film take place primarily in 1944.

Are certain people looking for virtually anything to criticize this film about? (That's not being very objective, now is it?) Why don't they just come out and say, "Tom Cruise is a weirdo. I hate him, and I want to help generate as much negative buzz about VALKYRIE as possible."

"Damn it, it's jammed!"
