Timothymayer-I don't wanna go off on a long diatribe about the benefits of hallucinogenic substances, but they don't make EVERY user psychotic or senile. I took my share of stuff in the 70s, and can tell you with only a couple of exceptions they were pleasant experiences. Do you drink alcohol? Take aspirin for a headache? You can argue that anything you ingest will affect you in one way or another, even foods. Tribal people use mushrooms to "open the spiritual gates" as it were..psychiatry thought LSD would be good for folks with mental blocks etc. There are always pros and cons to every substance. But I can tell you that most everyone I knew back in the late 60s/70s doing these things became very peaceful "hippies" (and of course that's whay the stuff was outlawed because we can't have such rampant peaceful Love/ antiwar sentiments) LOL
