And good question re: Vampira -- I've often wondered myself which movies she ran on her show (it was WAY before my time, alas).

I have always wondered? The SHOCK THEATRE package was released to TV Stations in 1958 and VAMPIRA's show on KABC-7 predated that. My guess is that it must have been the Old Monogram and PRC Poverty Row Classics like THE DEVIL BAT, VOODOO MAN, BOWERY AT MIDNIGHT, THE APE, maybe some of Karloff's MR. WONG films? I don't know. I am curious if the LOS ANGELES PUBLIC LIBRARY have TV GUIDE MICROFILM? I know my local Public Library has TV GUIDE MICROFILM of the NORTHERN CALIFORNIA EDITION from 1953-82. I don't know why they don't have any later TV GUIDE on MICROFILM? And back to SHOCK THEATRE, Did KABC-7 have the rights to the SHOCK THEATRE package in 1958? And if so, Who hosted SHOCK THEATRE there if VAMPIRA didn't. Funny thing though, For YEARS, I was always under the impression VAMPIRA was the host of LOS ANGELES's SHOCK THEATRE.
Actually I found the answer to the VAMPIRA question and I was right on my guess of POVERTY ROW HORROR/MYSTERY FILMS. Check it out at http://www.milwaukee-horr...osts.com/VampiraShow.html
