And to quote catmandu, I'm very much surprised that this behavior goes down in this day and age. Not to mention actors and suits putting up with it.
Skelton, I'm surprised at your surprise. You've never heard of David O. Russell?

Jeff's also right about some of these comments as being way too alarmist at this point. Singer's reputation isn't riding on how well VALKYRIE does (if it tanks, Tom Cruise is gonna be the guy who takes the big hit).

He's also no Michael Cimino (one hit and then given waaaayyyy too much leeway) or M. Night Shyamalan (who's problem, essentially, is that it's been diminishing returns ever since SIXTH SENSE, his first big hit).

Singer has USUAL SUSPECTS, APT PUPIL and two verrrryyy successful (and well-reviewed) X-Men films to his credit (and if SUPERMAN RETURNS wasn't the big hit they were looking for, it also wasn't a bomb). With a resume like that, he's going to keep working on A-list films much longer than some here seem to be predicting.
