BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN is also on the top of my want list. I'd have to say that the Mexican claim is a bunch of "caca de toro", since the film was cut by Universal before it was submitted to the censors, and therefore the missing scenes would not be in the domestic or exported negatives.
Other wants:
MARK OF THE VAMPIRE
MAD LOVE (the murder of Ian Wolfe- exists in stills but not in the film)
KING KONG (not just the spider sequence, but the complete 14 reel studio preview version)
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1925- the "sneak preview" version)
DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE (1931- The scene of Hyde trampling a child)
FREAKS (of course)

In terms of lost films, I'm like to see them all ;-)
Major wants, however, would be WHILE PARIS SLEEPS (Why does nobody seem interested in Chaney's first horror film?), THE WIZARD, THE TERROR, LIVING BUDDHAS and THE GORILLA (1927). I know Liar Liar MacIntyre has seen them all, so that guarantees they're lost.
GREAT list PhantomXCI! I was thinking of more films to add to the list but you've nailed most of the ones I was thinking of. I too am skeptical about any extra footage that people claim they've seen, own, etc.--though extra SON OF FRANKENSTEIN footage (about a minutes worth) does exist--it doesn't really add much to the movie (but it's neat to know that extra stuff can be out there). As far as this webbed fingered fellow that claims to track down every lost film, for some billionaire horder who gets his rocks off frusterating movie buffs--bull puckies! How's it go?--"I'll cut to the chase"--then the guy bombards the reader with a novela of his life story. To quote Jim Morrison...people are strange...and MacIntyre may be one of the strangest.

Alot of honest folks claim that a scene in THE WOLF MAN is missing. The scene in mention is where Chaney Jr., after being tied up by Claude Rains, transforms and escapes(my own mom has even remarked about it). Though I'd love for this to exist somewhere I don't think it's true--and is probally people remembering one of the following movies in the series.

I know I've remember things from movies that just didn't happen--like watching THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN in color--as well as the ending to FRANKENSTEIN THE TRUE STORY being much different--with more dialogue between Dr. F and The Monster. In absolutely no way am I saying these unique versions exist--only that as a child I remember them--and that I'm sure my mind was just playing tricks on me (though I still think that the ending to TRUE STORY looks abrupt). Too bad some joker out might read this post and now claim to have such materials--but can't disclose where they are (yeah rightimage).

I'd like to add THE MIRACLE MAN to the list of FILM BUFF'S MOST WANTED. It pains me to watch what little remains and hear the narrator claim that it's a film that will "never be forgotten"--oh yeah...well, how the hell did it get lost! Other nominees would be LIFE WITHOUT SOUL and HOMUNCULUS.
