I used to watch him, Floyd, from the very beginning -- because I used to be associated with Al "Jazzbeaux" Collins, who also had a show on KTSF-26, and was his guest from time to time (dating back to his late-night KGO Radio show). We even had Tom B. Stone as a guest at an event we hosted at the Union City Mall in Union City (where else?). He was a US Marine, who was station in the Bay Area, and I lost track of him after his show went off the air. I think a friend of mine may have an episode or two on VHS, which he recorded long, long ago... Didn't know about the Alex Bennett-hosted show on 36, but perhaps that's for the best -- he was an ass in person and on the radio.
August, Wow what memories. I almost forgot about AL "JAZZBEAUX" COLLINS and his morning show on KTSF. If I remember right, Jazzbeaux's Show was on MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAYS from 6:AM-9:AM. Great Music And Great Guests. I remember how JAZZBEAUX sure loved his BAGELS and even wanted to fill the local Bay Area Street Pot Holes With BagelsimageIf your friend has video tapes of the KTSF SATURDAY NIGHT DEAD show, he should post some footage on YOU TUBE. As for the ALEX BENNETT version of SATURDAY NIGHT DEAD on KICU-36, the movies weren't bad, but his segments stunk. Not even horror related. His segment were video taped in some sort of Night Club. In my opinion, ALEX BENNETT was the WORST HORROR TV HOST in NORTHERN CALIFORNIA!
