Another thing, Hal, is just how many times Jimmy Finlayson turned up. Boy, he was probably their greatest foil ever, followed by Charlie Hall.

It was on all day at my house, too. A great joy was hearing my wife laugh from the other room. She loves L&H, but I always get warmed when I hear others laugh at them.

I live in Torrance (suburb of L.A.) and I used to attend the "Way Out West" tent meetings in the Valley back in the early 80s. Nowadays, the meetings invariably fall on a night I have a prior commitment, and the drive is just too far for a Tuesday. Still, I miss laughing with an audience at the boys' films.
