Any word yet on special features?
Okay, here's the word: there aren't any special features, and it's partly my fault. The commentaries on the
ADVENTURES set were quite costly, and as there are already so many Hammer horrors out there with commentaries, they decided to forego them. As for shorts, that
was my call. The only horror serial we have is MONSTER AND THE APE; I screened the first two chapters and they're deadly dull. I next went through a number
of comedy shorts, and each and every one had Dudley Dickerson or some other Black comedian doing the frightened, bug-eyed servant bit, and I knew they would
never get past Legal. It seemed silly to include just a single cartoon, and since these films have been so long-awaited, I bit the bullet and said that shorts
wouldn't be necessary on this one.
All right, go ahead and have at me.
