My sister went to a garage sale and called me almost immediately. A lady was selling lots of old Monster Magazines for really cheap. I rushed over there and I hit a bonanza. She was selling her late son's monster magazines. He had recently passed away of a heart attack at the age of 57 and he was never married and still lived at home. Well anyway, she was selling these magazines at 50 Cents a piece and they were in pretty good condition and were in protective plastic bags. I bought the almost complete FAMOUS MONSTERS #7 through #189, THE MONSTER TIMES #2 through #10, CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEIN #2 through #6 and the WARREN version of HOUSE OF HORRORS. I am still in disbelief. She also told me that there is more Monster related stuff in her basement (where her son lived) and if I was interested she would show me. I have a appointment with her this Monday. Wish Me Luck!!!

Well, I had a chance to meet EDNA SCHULTZ. She was that special lady I met who had that garage sale, selling her late son's monster magazine collection. She was so nice. I spent nearly 5 hours talking to her. She took me to the basement where her son lived and I felt like I died and went to heaven. There were several old Monster Models all built up (Aurora as well as a few Rat Phink ones), CASTLE and KEN 8mm Films, Movie Posters on the wall (like DESTROY ALL MONSTERS, DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE and A CLOCKWORK ORANGE) plus even more Monster Magazines and Horror Comics. The latter though were mostly 1970's Horror Comics like Avon's TALES OF EVIL, DC's GHOSTS and Charlton's SCARY TALES. As for her son, RONALD SCHULTZ, he actually passed away of a Heart Attack at the age of 57 back in 2001. She was just selling his stuff because she was going to move to a RETIREMENT HOME and she couldn't bring it with her. She was also very happy (She even cried) to find out that a fellow Monster Movie Lover like myself bought those magazines. She was actually going to donate all those magazines to GOODWILL or THE SALVATION ARMY THRIFT STORES but had a change of heart. She didn't even know that there were people interested in this stuff. I'd like to discuss more about Ronald, his mother and his collection, but this topic is deviating from the HORROR FILM BOOKS AND MAGAZINES topic. Which forum should I move to and are there anyone out there interested in writing about it?
