Yeah, I'm an audiophile. I own and actively buy vinyl. I do NOT, however, buy new vinyl unless it's a reissue. There's simply nothing that modern pop music has to offer for me. Meanwhile, for example, some of the Mercury Living Presence albums from the '50s are some of THE BEST recordings to date and I take a lot of pleasure in playing them on my Audio Technica.

But this article gives an impression that vinyl is going to be the next "in thing." I don't think so. It's a growing nostalgia hobby, but is hardly what anyone would call a popular trend. Some youngsters want to "DJ" by spinning the black as a novelty, but I don't think one out of even ten of them gives the format the thought of being something they want to play their day-to-day music on.

I also agree with Dankerdine. They need to be focusing on content. American pop culture is at an all-time low. There is absolutely nothing in it that is inspiring.
