If the recording industry numbskulls are truly concerned about flagging sales, perhaps they should stop obsessing over formats and various technologies and start exhibiting a bit of concern regarding content. And yeah, call me an old fart, perhaps I am. But not when it comes to music (or at least the desire for such!). There is some good stuff out there but I have to dig, dig, dig, for it. Even my son (who is 21 and as tapped into the "Rock Scene" as, I suppose, one could be) finds little new stuff available and even less worth hearing. For years I said that what we needed was a war to bring back rock. I guess what I should have said was "the draft" instead of "a war".
