OK, I can buy into the fact that he had no idea how much the collection was worth. But he DID know that it was not his property to do with as he pleases. Tough call on how to act/react. You do have legal options, but will it be worth the impact such actions might have on your family?
I don't know anything about fetal alcohol syndrome, but I'd see to it that there are at least some repercussions for his actions. Whether that involves pressing charges, having him get your stuff back for you, or whatever, I wouldn't just let the matter go. Yeah, it might be a tough thing to do knowing it involves family that might or might not agree with you. But it definitely would be the right thing to do. If he's impaired, all the more reason to see that he learns that this behavior is unacceptable.

If he'd just made a mistake - let some kids have it, or threw it away by accident, whatever - that would be one thing. But he puts it on eBay...! image

He was certainly smart enough to grasp the concept of EBay.
Yeah, that's a good point. I know people that aren't impaired what-so-ever that would have trouble figuring out how to sell on eBay...! It's hard for any of us to know how complicit he is in this situation.
