I learned a lot about 50's and 60's pop culture just from listening to my baby boomer parents talk about it. I have shocked many of my older co- workers by getting in on their conversations about things that were well before my time. (However, it evens out because I usually have no clue as to what the younger ones are talking about). Kids that are raised by parents who never talk about old movies, TV or music will probably never learn about it. My 11 year old can tell you all about classic rock from the 60's 70's and 80's, as well as all the greats like Karloff, Lugosi and even Max Schrek. I guess it is all in how well people have paid attention to the previous generation's culture.
