I also read that, or a similar article, before seeing the thing (TV Guide, maybe?), and it probably predisposed me against it. Not that that matters.

As for Peter Crombie, I dunno. Unfortunately, I had just seen the Joe Duvola episodes of Seinfeld for the first time within weeks, maybe days, of the airing of HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN. As an actor myself, I try to overlook such distractions of casting and judge the performance on its own, but in that case I just couldn't. Crazy Joe Duvola was a terrific performance by Crombie, and I simply couldn't get it out of my head. So I really don't know if he was any good as the monster. I smiled every time he appeared and couldn't shake the image of the other character. Not fair, maybe, but it just happened that way.
