I can tell you that Showcase #24, Wonder-Woman #105, Famous Monsters #50 thru 98, about 10 Aurora Model kits. all the Megao planet of the Apes and Star Trek figures. And, if I think too much I will cry...a lifetime of stuff. I had to go to Texas to to help care for a child of a ex. He was left in chrage of the collection which was locked in two large closets. He had no premission to sell the stuff and part of his story is that he had no idea how much it was worth. He does live with my parents and is 23. And, I am really at a lost.
The Columbo in me is coming out, so I just have to ask a few questions. I don't understand why if your collection was locked away in two closets why would you have to "leave somebody in charge" of it? It's not like a dog where somebody would have to feed it and walk it. If the closets were "locked" did he forcibly break into it or did you leave him he key? Does he have a history of drug use (which was my first thought)? If so, that was kind of poor judgement on your part leaving him as caretaker of your treasure so to speak. Since your brother doesn't sound to trustworthy how do you know for sure he only got $200. for it. I'd definitely check with the buyer and find out if that were a fact. Your bro might be holding out on you.
Clearly he is of age if you want to proceed with pressing charges, but being family that just opens a big ugly can of worms. I'd probably cut my losses and move on, but I'd still kick his ass anyway.
