I thought he was good in True Lies as Arnold's boss.
A few years earlier, and he would have been the perfect Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D.

He seemed to relish playing the villain in THE THREE MUSKETEERS.

Heston was originally offered the role of Athos (ultimately played by Oliver Reed). Heston didn't feel up to the prolonged horse riding and swordplay the role required, and so was given Cardinal Richelieu, instead. (The actor quipped it was the one time he played someone with a more prominent nose than his own.)

Let us for this day set aside our personal beliefs and political views and remember the man.
Well said. I forget who it was, at the moment, but one Hollywood executive who didn't care for Heston's beliefs once announced he would never appear at any charity event that Charlton Heston would be at. My immediate reaction was "Heston is a living Hollywood legend, probably recognized around the world, whereas few outside of the studio probably even knew who the exec was...let the mogul stay home and sulk." (After all, a charity event is about the cause, not the celebrity.)
