Of course I loved Charlton Heston's film and political careers. I've missed his incredible profile from both fronts and truly envy those who had the opportunity to meet him. I also want to take this time to remind folks that Richard Dreyfuss, an actor on the opposite side of the political spectrum from Mr. Heston, came to the defense of Heston when he was attacked for his political views. Dreyfuss' statement defended not only Heston, but championed civility within political discourse. I thought Dreyfuss' gentlemanly statement was one of the best political broadsides I had ever read. I'd like to meet him and thank him for that.

I'd like to see Dreyfuss's statement. That was very decent of him to do. Funny thing, I watched Jaws for the first time in ages tonight.

There's some Hollywood liberals I respect. Paul Newman is one. With his Newman's Own dressings, at least he puts his money where his mouth is. And the salad dressings are good (yes, this is an endorsement).
