By sheer coincidence I just watched Terence Fisher's obscure creepy comedy THE HORROR OF IT ALL, which the noble Wolfman Joe recorded for me from a recent presentation on the Fox Movie Channel. The eyes in the painting gag is definitely there, at roughly 50 minutes into the film. Singer Pat Boone is surprisingly tolerable as the straight man surrounded by a house full of British eccentrics, but the best performance comes from the delightful Andree Melly, who had become something of a horror icon after her brief apperance in BRIDES OF DRAULA, but has a much juicier role here as a vampish vixen who drinks Bloody Marys, quotes Shakespeare, plays dirges on the piano, and spouts an endless stream of macabre double entendres. Worth seeking out as perhaps her finest hour.
