"I love DC Comics. It's just that Marvel generally blows them away when it comes to writers, inkers, pencillers, and even characters."

I actually think the opposite, at least in the case of artists. When Marvel began publishing the superhero books in the sixties, there was some diversity, with Ditko, Kirby, Ayers and Heck doing different characters. But, as the Marvel style evolved, they started having a "house look" where everything began to be drawn in the style of Kirby or Romita. You had exceptions like Gene Colan's beautiful work on DAREDEVIL, but it all had a "sameness" to it. Not that it wasn't great in its own right, and I love it, but it was sometimes hard to tell the difference between Sal Buscema or Dave Cockrum(for instance).

DC, on the other hand, had amazing diversity, even in the early sixties. By the seventies, DC exploded with Adams, Wrightson, Kaluta and other major talents revitalizing old concepts and characters. And they still had great work by the more standard DC folks, like Swan, Anderson and Infantino, who were exceptional storytellers.
