You might be right, davlghry, that our appreciation of comic book art depends on when we were growing up and reading comics. But, I consider the best talents ever in the field to be Alex Raymond, Berni Wrightson and Jim Lee. Raymond's work appeared when my father was a kid long before I was born and the Jim Lee work caught my eye as an adult long after I had stopped buying comics. Of course there are others that I would include as being great artists from around the time when I was a kid, but those are the three that I think are the best ever. Only one of them, Berni Wrightson, was working when I was buying comics as a kid.
