Loved Kane; whenever fans say, "if we could have a story where the Best Artist for Each Character drew their own!", I pick him for the Hal GL.

But the last few things I saw him do, including a much-heralded GL return, didn't seem up to snuff.

Ditto, Kirby; some of the Pacific stuff looked to my eyes, almost like the later Tribute things other guys did for Marvel: someone else trying to LOOK like Jack.

I'd call neither wholly "bad," but...

On Old Pro who I think kept his chops right till the end (which, after all, is tough as you age, in a medium where eyes & fingers are all) was Eisner.
