I just read the first 'Brand New Day' issue of the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, and I must say, strictly as a story, it was refershingly clean and forward-looking, not weighed down by the baggage of the 20 years just erased from continuity. It is sorta like ULTIMATE, except he's in his 20s. It says he dated Mary Jane and the almost got married.

Harry is back, and in an update double-spread at the back it says NO ONE knows his identity -- not Aunt May, not the Avengers, not Daredevil (which bothers me because I thought they knew each other's identity back in the Silver Age. I may be wrong, but). The Civil War still happened, but he will refuse to register.

Anyhow, it's a wholesale restart, although contemporary with the regular Marvel Universe. It feels fresh and almost squeaky earnest, and time will tell.
