In my "opinion" from the last 20 years of research and regularly dealing with customers with hair loss there are several factors that apply in men, none of which are genetic or inherited. Nutritional deficiencies #1...lack of B vitamins and MINERALS especially(both of which are lost with excess caffeine and alcohol consumption)....#2 is microwaved food (a study was done with 2 control groups of mice-one fed microwaved food and water and one not...the microwave group lost their hair and started fighting each other)
#3 those damned baseball caps (the band constricts blood flow and the hat holds in sweat (acid ph) which clogs pores and affects the hair follicles and roots). From what I can see the only inherited thing which comes into play is the behaviour patterns passed on by the family(mainly dietary).
Ear candles DO work, BTW. The Amish have used them for decades, as have Native American healers. They sometimes need repeated regular use to address the issue, not just one try. The smoke from the ear opening end kills bacteria(ear infections) and by heat convection draws out some of the waxy crap like a chimney updraft. Simple science, not voodoo.
